EL SALVADOR
The Salvadoran dog, known by everyone as the 'chucho aguacatero,' whose name comes from the Nahuatl word 'chuchu,' is considered by many nationals and foreigners as the national symbol of El Salvador.
It's here, there, and over there, with its humble omnipresence and waggling tail. It doesn't discriminate by breed or gender, nor by condition. It defends you just as it loves you, withstands illnesses like no other, the best personal caretaker and the biggest adventurer.
Deja Tu Huella is the first online store where up to 100% of the profits are directly donated to our partnered shelters and sanctuaries to fund the rescue, sterilization, and care of stray dogs. El Salvador has been a pioneer in many things like surf city, bitcoin, chivo pets, Miss Universe, etc. Our mission is also to make El Salvador the first country in Latin America to save the stray dogs in El Salvador and encourage other countries to do the same!

All donations and proceeds at Leave Your Pawprint are given to dog shelters and sanctuaries to help cover the monthly costs that come with the rescue, sterilization, and care of all the stray dogs in El Salvador. Below, we detail the shelters and sanctuaries we have partnered and the various costs that each dog at Deja Tu Huella needs to have a second chance at a better life!
Maintenance
All shelters and sanctuaries have to cover monthly maintenance costs such as electricity, water, internet, cleaning, security, and more
Heartgard ≈ $10
This medication of 1 tablet per dog per month is an effective dewormer and larvicide that also prevents heartworm infection.
Food ≈ $35
Each dog at Leave Your Pawprint requires approximately 1 bag of 22 kg food for optimal and healthy nourishment.
Bravecto ≈ $50
This medication of 1 tablet per dog every 3 months is a highly effective dewormer in eradicating and preventing flea and tick infestations.
Neutering ≈ $100
In order to control canine overpopulation in El Salvador, we resort to sterilization and neutering processes to decrease the reproduction of stray dogs.
Vaccines ≈ $150
Every puppy needs 6 vaccinations to be fully protected: Parvovirus (3 doses), Quadrivalent (2 doses), and Rabies (1 dose). These 3 vaccines are boosted annually.
